    Intervention Teaching Assistant

    We are seeking to appoint an experienced, conscientious teaching assistant. The ideal candidate will be passionate about learning and motivated to inspire children to see learning as exciting; driven to ensure all children achieve their personal best; dedicated to improving pupil outcomes. The ideal applicant will be flexible, have high expectations, be hard working and be equally comfortable working as a team, under the direction of others and independently. In return, the successful candidate will find themselves amongst supportive staff and governors in a friendly environment.


    The candidate should have

    •       NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification minimum (or equivalent)

    •       Maths and English at GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent)  


    The teaching assistant is accountable to the Inclusion Manager, including Performance Management, who will determine where interventions will be allocated and for what length of time.

    Key Skills:

    • Confident  to work across all ages dependent on need
    • Experience with leading interventions,  including reporting outcomes to the class teacher or Inclusion Manager
    • Able to demonstrate a high level of initiative
    • Able to work flexibly with class teachers when supporting class teaching objectives
    • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently when required
    • Confident to communicate with parents or other agencies have the ability to aid effective assessment, monitoring and intervention work


    Interventions could be associated with improving literacy and numeracy understanding, developing social and emotional skills, developing independent learning skills or physical development.

    The hours are 8.30am-12.30pm Monday to Friday Term time (17.5 hours per week)

    This post is permanent subject to a 3-month probationary period starting on Monday 10th December or earlier if possible.


    Grade F (pts 17-22) £18,672 - £21,074 pa pro rata
