    14/02/2019 - History Day! We shared facts about the period or aspect of History that we had chosen to represent with our costumes, relating this to our chronological understanding. We hope that everyone has a lovely half term 😊

    04/02/2019 - Owls have been learning lots of new facts about the Titanic and creating some incredible pieces of work!

    01/02/2019 - Owls have been working so hard, learning more about the Titanic. All of the children have produced brilliant homework as part of their Titanic projects, of which they should feel very proud! 

     

    Here are some of the facts that Owls have found out as part of their Historical Detective work:

     

    • The Titanic was 882 feet (269 metres) in length and 175 feet (53 metres) in height.
    • The Titanic’s engines were powered by pressurised steam from burning coal.
    • The Titanic's intended course was from Southampton, England to New York City, USA.
    • 10,000 lamp bulbs were used on the ship.
    • 64 – the number of lifeboats the Titanic was equipped to carry. 20 – the number of lifeboats she actually carried.

    • 2,223 – the number of people aboard (passengers and crew).
