06/12/21 - Christmas has arrived in our class! We have started a new book, which Miss Greenwood reads to us everyday, called 'The Christmas Pig' by JK Rowling. We redesigned the front cover of the book, based on what we have read so far. We also have an advent calendar, lots of Christmas books, a post-box, and a Christmas display board for our wonderful work across the curriculum!

01/12/21 - Year 6 were visited by a Gecko! It was amazing to learn about caring for this animal, as well as lots of other fascinating facts!

11/11/21 - We are taking part in the 'Facetime a Farmer' project. It was very informative and we learnt lots. We will be keeping in contact with Farmer Josh throughout this academic year to see lots of updates from the farm and to learn about farming through the seasons!

    'EXPLORE' Theme Week

    1st - 5th November

05/11/21 - Reading to Kestrels Reception children was so much fun - the animal stories were a real treat!

04/11/21 - Today, we undertook an experiment to learn about opposable thumbs. We taped our thumbs to our hands, and then had to undertake a range of activities - including opening and closing a jar, brushing our hair, writing our name, doing up a zip and tying shoelaces. This was really fun, and also taught us the importance of our thumbs in completing everyday activities successfully ๐Ÿ‘ #WorkingScientifically

03/11/21 - Modern Mona Lisa artwork! Exploring art and History!

02/11/22 - Jelly, Chopsticks, Oil and Friction 'Explore' Science Experiment ๐Ÿฅข - We investigated friction using oil and jelly. Each group was given pieces of jelly and they had to transfer them from one bowl to another using chop sticks. After we covered the jelly in oil, we had to repeat the experiment. This time it was a lot harder to move the cubes because of the oil and the lack of friction between the chop sticks and the jelly cubes. We recorded our results. We learnt that Friction is the force between two surfaces rubbing together and the oil reduces friction and therefore it becomes harder to move the jelly cubes!

22/10/21 - Have a happy and healthy half term! You are all amazing #OurClass ๐ŸŒŸ
