    Remote Learning at Thrupp: 2020

On 30th September 2020, Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State, issued a new legal requirement for schools. The Coronavirus Act 2020 provision of Remote Education.

This Education Act  requires, that where a class, group of pupils, or individual pupil needs to self isolate, or there are local or national restrictions requiring pupils to remain at home, schools are expected to provide immediate access to remote learning.

At Thrupp, we have agreed to provide this learning facility for our pupils, with the aim that no pupil will fall behind their peers due to being away from our school. Every possible opportunity will be made available to them. Our expectations for the provision of home learning are set out fully in our Remote Learning Policy.

Thrupp School will be using Microsoft Teams to provide virtual learning when a whole year group is absent from school in the case of a class outbreak or a national lockdown. For an individual pupil, or small groups of pupils isolating, they will be directed by their teachers to the Home Learning section of the website where daily / weekly tasks will be set and instructions as to how to submit this work.

Each class has a direct email to class teachers where communication can be made directly rather than coming through the school office. Email addresses are:

There is more information about our Remote Learning if you look on our website, under the tab:  Children, and then click on Home Learning.

We have our annual Fun Run on Monday 22nd April. Our PTA will be spending the money raised on our children. Thank you in advance.
