    Spring

    Our topic this term is SUPERHEROES!
    Monday 29th March - Thursday 1st April
    This week we’ve been writing our own version of Supertato. Our year 1 children have been using their number bonds to add and subtract and our year 2 children have been adding tens and ones to 2 digit numbers. In Science, we looked at how to look after a pet and discussed all the things animals need to be happy and healthy.

    We’ve been enjoying the sunshine this week...

    Monday 22nd March - Friday 26th March

    Year 1s have been measuring in Maths. On Tuesday we started looking at capacity.

    We've been retelling the story of Supertato. This is the new book we're looking at.

    Monday 15th March - Friday 19th March

    As part of our theme week, we talked about ASPIRE. We learnt about David Attenborough and Mo Farah and then talked about what we aspire to do/be.

    On Wednesday we talked about being CURIOUS. We did our own science investigations and went on a trip to the allotments.

    We’ve been learning all about Spring and created some lovely art work.

    Monday 8th March - Friday 12th March

    We had such a lovely first day being back together. We talked all about what we'd been doing during lockdown and how we feel about being back at school.

    Tuesday 9th February was Safer Internet Day. We talked about how we can't believe everything we read on the internet and made some true and false facts of our own.

    We will be creating our own animal fact files this week for our writing.

    This week we will start by learning about how to use conjunctions and then we will write our own version of Little Red Riding Hood. In Science, we are classifying animals into groups and we're learning about Mary Anning for our superhero topic.

    What an amazing week for Hawks class. Everyone has been working SO hard and produced amazing work that Miss Mills, Mrs Bovington and Miss White are super proud of.
