    Spring

Home Learning - Week Commencing 23rd February

Eagles have continued with their excellent attitude to live lessons and home learning after half term. We couldn't be more proud of them - thank you Eagles for working so hard!

This week, the children have written some outstanding stories set in the rainforest, inspired by the two books we have read by Lynne Cherry. We will be compiling the short stories into a class book - watch this space to read them online!

This week we have also been thinking abut the vanishing rainforest and what this means for the world, and we have been looking at the life cycles of different animals in Science.

Home Learning - Week Commencing 8th February

This week, we have been learning about people who live in the Amazon rainforest. In Geography, we have learnt about the city of Manaus, and some of the tribal communities. In English, we have read the story of The Shaman's Apprentice, which explores the traditional way of life of the Tirio tribe. Eagles have been working very hard on their assignments set on Teams. We have received lots of fantastic pieces of writing based on our learning.

On Tuesday, it was Safer Internet Day. The children have produced some fantastic posters to help each other answer the question "How do you know what to trust online?"

Home Learning- Week Commencing 1st February

What a lot of talent there is in Eagles! Our learning about the rainforest this week has included musical compositions, weather reports, research about plants and medicines, creating models of rainforest creatures and some amazing setting descriptions.

We are so impressed with how hard that Eagles are working and the creativity they have shown with their learning. Well done everybody!

Eagles have worked really hard to make these wonderful rainforest dioramas. They show the different layers of the rainforest and some of the plants and animals you might find. We think they are amazing!

Home learning - Week Commencing 25th January

Eagles are continuing to impress us with the fantastic effort they are putting into their home learning. We have learnt more this week about the rainforest, including the animals that live there, and we have read the story of The Great Kapok Tree. In Science, we have been learning about lifecycles.

Eagles have been finding out about animals of the Amazon rainforest. Here are some great information PowerPoints by Arthur, Naomi and Primrose.

In RE, we have been learning about God's covenant with Noah. Here are some of our beautiful promise rainbows.

Home learning - Week Commencing 18th January

We have had lots of fantastic pieces of work submitted this week. Thank you Eagles - to you and your parents - for working so hard at home. We are very proud of all of you.

This week, Eagles have been learning about the Amazon River and the layers of the Rainforest. In English, we have been working on uplevelling sentences and learning how to write relative clauses. There has also been some great Science and Maths learning taking place.

Home Learning - Week Commencing 11th January

Eagles have had a fantastic first week of live sessions using Teams. Mrs Bass and Mrs Catt have really enjoyed seeing the children and everyone has been working hard. Thank you to everyone who has emailed work. We have been busy learning about Michael Morpurgo, South America, the parts of flowers and the story of Noah! We have also started our guided reading text Kensuke's Kingdom, done lots of multiplication and produced some excellent writing.

    AMAZING AMAZON

Our topic for Spring Term 1 and 2 is ‘Amazing Amazon’ which has a Geography focus. We will be learning about aspects of the rainforest including plants and animals and the threats to this precious environment. We will focus particularly on the Amazon Rainforest, the Amazon river basin and the continent of South America, comparing it to the UK.

Looking forward to welcoming all families back on 8th March. Last two weeks of Home Learning! Enjoy and keep well.
