Today we made pan pipes for our science lesson, the children loved making the different sizes to make the different sounds!
This week in English the children have been looking at poetry inspired by the circus. They have created their own list poems, which were amazing! 😁 Then today, they had the chance to perform part of a circus poem, to the class!
I've really enjoyed my first week with Buzzards, and I look forward to many more 😊
FINISHED CIRCUS POSTERS
Pupils created their OWN outstanding posters. I am incredibly
impressed with the TONE that has been created. Here is the finished work:
Pupils looked amazing dressed up in French themed clothes.
Today pupils looked at VINTAGE circus posters to investigate the style of them.
Were there similarities that ran between them?
Pupils started their own posters. They look amazing! Pupils should be finished by next week.
MENTAL HEALTH and WELLBEING ACTIVITIES
This week, ATLAS came in to do some fun challenges.
First, we had to work in teams to design a packaging that would protect an egg!
Here we are testing our creations:
Here we are checking to see which egg survived!
The class also did some blindfolded challenges to develop our communication skills.
Pupils also created their OWN challenge course!
They had a really wonderful time.
GETTING TO KNOW OUR NEW TOPIC
I purposely didn't dress the classroom at the start of term so that the pupils didn't know what what our topic was.
On Monday, pupils had to solve some clues to find WHAT our topic is.
Eventually, after a lots of clues, two pupils solved it. Yay!
We watched some circus videos to get us inspired and to know what a circus is like. Some pupils hadn't been to a circus before so I hoped this helped!
Coincidentally, one pupil had brought in a signed TWEEDY photo that they had over Christmas. It was great that it linked to the class.
Pupils LOVED looking at this!
