Here are some of the facts that Owls have found out as part of their Historical Detective work:

    • The Titanic was 882 feet (269 metres) in length and 175 feet (53 metres) in height.
    • The Titanic’s engines were powered by pressurised steam from burning coal.
    • The Titanic's intended course was from Southampton, England to New York City, USA.
    • 10,000 lamp bulbs were used on the ship.
    • 64 – the number of lifeboats the Titanic was equipped to carry. 20 – the number of lifeboats she actually carried.

    • 2,223 – the number of people aboard (passengers and crew).
