    Reading At Home

We encourage you to read with and to your child on a regular basis. The expectation is at least 3 times a week at home. Please write in their reading record how they are getting on. They get a sticker on their bookmark each time they finish a book at home.

Children who are reading phonics books will get their phonics book sent home on a Wednesday and they will need to return it on a Monday morning. Year 2 children who are no longer reading phonics books can change their book daily by putting it in the reading tray in the classroom. In addition to this, all children will have a sharing book which they are not expected to be able to read. This is a book for an adult to read and enjoy with them. These go home on a Friday and come in on a Friday.

    PE and Forest School Days

Each week PE will be on a Monday and Thursday. Please wear PE kit on those days.

    Snack Time

We have free fruit and vegetables for the children but if you would like to send more in please do. Please help promote healthy eating by sending them in with a healthy snack. Remember we are a nut free school.

Please see our class page to see all the exciting things we have been doing and do not hesitate to come in and ask anything you are unsure of.

At Thrupp, we have generated a list of key skills for each year group. These are objectives from the National Curriculum which we feel are essential for your child to achieve before they move on with their learning.

We have our annual Fun Run on Monday 22nd April. Our PTA will be spending the money raised on our children. Thank you in advance.
