Due to the retirement of the current post holder, Thrupp School is seeking to appoint a Finance Secretary to support the Headteacher in all financial matters. Thrupp School is a village school with 130 pupils on roll. Staff and governors are a highly committed team, striving to provide the very best education for the children in their care. The school is looking to appoint an equally committed Finance Secretary.
As Finance Secretary you will be responsible for the day-to-day finance and personnel functions of the school. This will include budget planning, forecasting, monitoring and reporting. You will co-ordinate financial returns ensuring all deadlines are met. However being a small school there is an expectation to undertake other reception and general office tasks that contribute to the effective running of a school office. This will include acting as the first point of contact for visitors to the school, answering telephone queries, diary management, drafting letters and updating our information databases.
Knowledge of FMS and SIMS is desirable, as duties will include maintaining staff and pupil records, attendance etc.
It is essential that you are well organised, motivated and have excellent communication, IT and inter-personal skills as well as being keen to use your initiative. You will need to be able to manage your time efficiently, have a high level of confidentiality and maintain a good sense of humour!
Starting Date: Monday 2 October 2017
The hours are 8.00am - 12.30pm Monday to Friday (Term time + INSET Days).
This post is permanent subject to a 6-month probationary period.
