At Thrupp the children have the choice of a cooked meal or sandwiches from home. Children in KS1 are entitled to a FREE hot meal each day as part of the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme introduced in September 2014.
Cooked lunches are provided by Caterlink, a contractor appointed by Gloucestershire County Council, to provide nutritionally balanced meals at an affordable price. These are cooked and delivered daily from another local school. A main meal and desert costs £2.20 a day for years 3, 4, 5 & 6 which is paid for through the ParentPay system.
Each day the children have a choice of three main courses which are selected as part of morning registration. Meals are ordered on the day and you can choose daily whether your child will have a school meal or packed lunch. If you know your child will be late to school, please call and book your meal before 9.30am as we have to order meals.
Those children who prefer to bring sandwiches are encouraged to bring a healthy combination of food; sandwiches, pasta, salad, yoghurts and fruit rather than chocolate or crisps. Please never send your child to school with any food containing nuts for snack or lunch, as several children in the school have nut allergies.
