    ThruppPrimary School

    School Council

Thrupp School have got an active School Council for 2019-2020. Two representatives from each class are elected by their peers following on from prepared speeches.

As well as thinking about our school they also think about charities. This year they have elected to support: Stroud Food Bank, Rotary Shoe Box Appeal, Children in Need, Poppy Appeal, Winstones Wish, Cancer Research, NSPCC, Sports Relief.

They are also thinking about how we as a school can make improvements. They have planned termly learning walks as well as supporting to write a pupil questionnaire. They were interviewed by Ofsted in November 2019, so that the views of our pupils were heard.

They always welcome feedback from their peers, as they are the voice to drive Thrupp School forward.

We fully recognise the importance of ‘pupil voice’ and involving the people who really count in the development of the school. Every year, two children are elected by each class to represent their views on how to make Thrupp Primary School an even better place in which to be educated. The Council provides a forum for children to air their views and learn to appreciate the views of others. They seek the opinions of their peers and have an important input in the decision making at our school.

The School Council also takes on responsibility for organising both social and charitable events.  Their work ranges from promoting and judging talent shows for their peers, to fund raising events for charities e.g. Winston’s Wish, Operation Christmas Child etc.

We have our annual Fun Run on Monday 22nd April. Our PTA will be spending the money raised on our children. Thank you in advance.
