Thrupp School Nursery is situated close to Stroud in the village of Thrupp. Our Nursery is a thriving pre-school unit attached to the school. The Nursery successfully achieved the Bristol Standard Quality Assurance for 6 years and their excellent practice has been used as an exemplar for other settings.
The Nursery was started in January 1997 and has consistently proved to be a great success. It is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am - 3.00pm.
Children over 3 years old are eligible for the nursery grant of 15 hours a week. If you work more than 16 hours a week, you may be able to claim up 30 hours per week extended nursery grant. For children under the age of three, fees are charged at £12 per 3 hour session and £24 for a full day. We employ three members of staff and have a maximum of 20 children per session.
The Nursery is well resourced and children have the advantage of being able to use all school facilities. As the group is closely integrated into school life, the children settle quickly and easily into school when they start in the Reception class and the academic and social benefits become evident.
